As we began collecting recipes for the cookbook, we asked for recipes that had historical significance. Maybe the recipe is special because Miss So-and-So always brought it to church dinners, or mama or grandma always cooked it for Christmas, or it was Aunt So-and-So’s special dish. Many of our recipes are the special dishes of ladies no longer with us, but who have left a rich culinary heritage. We believe the recipes we have included exemplify down-home Southern Cooking.
